The Research, Development & Innovation (RD&I) Fund is an initiative by Enterprise Ireland to foster innovation within companies of varying sizes in Ireland. The fund offers differentiated grant rates depending on the company size: Small Companies can avail a grant rate of up to 45% for R&D projects, Medium Companies of up to 35%, and Large Companies of up to 25%. For Digital Process Innovation Projects, all companies, regardless of size, are eligible for a 50% grant rate with a maximum grant amount capped at €150,000. Eligible:
Companies must operate in the manufacturing or internationally traded services areas of the business to be eligible for this support and be either currently trading internationally or trading internationally within the short term.
Eligible Local Enterprise Office clients must employ a minimum of 5 Full Time Staff in Ireland at the time of application.
All companies submitting an application for RD&I support must be EBITDA positive in the previous accounting period, or EBITDA positive for at least the previous nine months prior to application and can demonstrate sustainable future EBITDA-positivity.
